Doc's Bar

At one point in the life of the Argo Hotel, in the early 1960s, Dr. Charles Swift Jr. purchased it and made it into doctor’s offices and living quarters for him and his wife, June. The lobby was used as a waiting room for patients. The west side of the main floor was remodeled into their living quarters and the right side into his offices. The upper floor was unused and closed off. Doc Swift, as he was called, practiced here for 25 years until his retirement in 1987. Many residents from the surrounding area were seen by him and relive their memories (some good, some painful as with injections) when they visit the hotel. Doc’s Bar is named in his honor.

Enjoy the evening with your favorite drink in the bar’s relaxing atmosphere. You can meet with friends for some quiet conversation or just have a cocktail. Doc’s is a full service bar of beer, wine and cocktails. It is open evenings by request.
